The same goes for anything you use regularly. Make sure that when you’re finished with something, it goes back in its proper place before you move onto the next thing.
Nightly Closing Routine
It’s time to think about a store’s opening and closing routine again. Would a restaurant worker leave all the dirty dishes and messy tables sit overnight for the opening crew to take care of? No, and you shouldn’t do it to yourself either.
Before bed every night, make sure that your dishes are done and your counters are clean and wiped off. Tidy up your living room, put things away, and leave the space welcoming and inviting for yourself the next morning.
Even on the days you just don’t feel like you can get your closing duties done, set a timer for 15 minutes and get to work in the kitchen. This is not only a sanitary practice to get into, it’ll save your sanity as well.
